1.            Technical expert in all aspects of Database Administration in
MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 / 2008 / 2008R2 / 2012

2.            Installing and upgrading of MS SQL databases

3.            Performance tuning and database administration

4.            Experience on clustering and always on feature.

5.            Experience in designing Backup strategies  implementing

6.            Experience in database backup\recovery

7.            Understanding of various ITIL processes

8.            Good Communication Skills

9.            Experience on capacity planning and implementation.

Good-to-Have   1.*Experience in Progress database knowledge*

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

*Essential Functions*

The MS SQL Database Administrator will be primarily engaged in all database
administrator activities including but not limited to installing,
configuring, managing, securing the databases, design/implement the backup
strategies, manage the high availability components (e.g. clusters)

Work with CRFs / CRs

Co-ordinate /work with various stakeholders involved

Prepare / update the documentation



•             Task would include allocating system storage and planning
future storage requirements for the database system. Work with developers
on design, creating and change primary objects (tables, views, indexes,
     etc.) for application databases.

•             Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from
information given by application developers.

•             Enrolling users and maintaining system security for the
databases, ensuring compliance with company standards, Controlling and
monitoring user access to the database, Monitoring and optimizing the
performance of the database.

•             Provide on-call support during off hours

•             Troubleshoots systems, and applications to identify and
correct database problems.

•             Administer RDBMS tools.

•             Maintains a broad knowledge of state-of-the-art technology,
equipment, and/or systems.

•             Keeps abreast of technical developments and Information
Systems trends by self-study and participation in courses, seminars and
conferences.

•             Transfer knowledge to coworkers through development of
procedures and documentation of all relevant products.

•             Assist Application Administrators when their tasks require
database work.

•             Performs miscellaneous job-related duties and projects as
assigned.
