To be successful in this role, the consultant should be comfortable with developing in multiple languages and on multiple platforms on a regular basis. The consultant must have solid time management skills and a willingness to embrace new technologies. A high comfort level with C++ and Java is required, as well as an understanding of databases, XML and common protocols. *Day to day responsibilities:* · Work with implementation team to assess and implement integration solutions for their product sent · Work with end client representatives to ensure access to the right technology is in place for proper implementation · Collaborate with team members to provide the best and most scalable solution · Deal with escalated support issues as needed · Provide detailed documentation for each integration for the ease of support *Biggest technical challenge on the project*: Being able to shift across multiple technology platforms. My clients product is designed to integrate across multiple platforms and so being able to code and write API’s across these platforms is key *Required skills:* · Minimum of five years of software development experience utilizing a variety of languages, including C++ and Java · Must have knowledge of network programming with TCP /IP · Must have experience in developing web applications and client-server applications · Must be proficient in both Windows and Unix development environments · Strong knowledge of Oracle and PL / SQL · Experience developing for J2EE application servers such as Weblogic, Websphere, and Tomcat · Proficient with standard Java development tools, including ANT, CVS, log4J, and Junit · Excellent verbal and written communication skills · Ability to work closely with customers and business stakeholders.
