This experience should include: o Defining software enterprise architecture o Using enterprise application design patterns o Demonstrating ability to create systems architecture and solution design given a brief product requirement o Investigating and resolving system-wide technical problems o Evaluating COTS products o Designing new features to meet new business requirements o Experience in Defining hardware architecture is a plus. * Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience using each of the following: o Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) o Middleware oriented management, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) o Web applications architecture o Software technologies (.NET, J2EE, Mobility) o Enterprise Architecture tools (Visio, IBM Rational Software Architect, etc.) o Enterprise Content Management tools (document management, document warehouse, content management tools, etc.) o Database architecture, logical data modelling o Collaboration tools o Workflow and business process management Desired Experience/Qualities: * Experience in Telecom or ISP domain is a plus. Experience in Ethernet, Internet, Video technologies is a plus. * Experience developing, promoting and executing an enterprise technical vision based on customer business needs and industry best practices * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision * Outstanding verbal and written communication skills * Experience converting high level business requirements into enterprise level technical solutions * Experience with multiple Hardware and Software Environments * Experience with a variety of hardware platforms including distributed platforms, desktops and mobile devices * Experience in providing architecture leadership for multiple projects through the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) * Work with business and product teams and ensure product requirements are well understood, to an extent where solution Architect co-owns product requirements. * Have a deep understanding of E2E enterprise systems architecture and be able think and align solution strategically. * Provide a detailed architecture view of E2E solution dividing them into key feature sets. Ensure the same is consistent with enterprise architecture vision and aligns with program roadmap. Support program management for getting the same aligned with delivery plan. * Have a good grasp on established software technologies and be able to evaluate and apply emerging technologies for the program as required. Support POC efforts as required. * Experience in working with number of delivery teams to drive the understanding of the solution, provide next level of detail in the architecture and scope and enable the teams to deliver the requested asks. * Be conversant with various types of software delivery methodologies. * Evaluate processes and come up with optimization techniques. Also evaluate new IT tools, software products as needed. * Experience evaluating and implementing (Commercial Off-the-Shelf) COTS products * Experience with technical presentations, demonstrations to the development teams as well as to the leadership team * Possessing skill and understanding of variety of Operating Systems is a plus * Knowledge of Agile/Scrum development methodology is a plus The successful candidate can be expected to perform the following duties: * Lead and design technology solutions that are innovative, cost effective, high quality, and enable timely delivery to the business customer. * Create, or contribute to teams that create application architecture artifacts, design frameworks, standards and best practices based on the technologies used * Interface, and coordinate tasks with internal and external technical staff. Collaborate with Project Managers to provision estimates and develop overall solution implementation plans * As required, serve as a software development technology lead * As needed, support business development life cycle by serving as a product SME to help identify and quantify business development opportunities * Work with business analysts, solution designers and developers on projects to clarify the requirements and application architecture, and assist them in implementing proposed solutions Essential Job Functions * Acts as the subject matter expert for the program and serves as the end to end system architecture authority within that scope. Responsible for architecture, solution design, impact assessment based on business requirement. * Work with component or system teams and come up with solution design, system roles and responsibilities for a particular project, system interaction diagrams, and system requirements. * Display ability to quickly understand newer systems, functions. Ability to use open source products to come up with prototyping as required. Develop proof of concepts as needed to check feasibility of adopting a solution. * Provides thought leadership regarding system design, architecture, and integration. * Reviews and approves high risk design decisions prior to implementation. * Leads system design activities or reviews system designs to ensure that applications solutions will exhibit high levels of performance, security, scalability, maintainability, appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment. * Leads technology and product general assessments, detailed evaluations, and final selections. Educates and provides technical advice to management. * Leads system performance diagnosis and scalability assessment activities. Coordinates and manages activities of multiple hardware and software vendors on large project engagement. * Represents Company in technology discussions with vendors. Qualifications Basic Qualifications * Bachelor's / Advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field * Ten or more years of software experience, at least 3 – 4 years’ experience in enterprise and solution architecture * Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems, hardware and software * Experience working with telecommunications industry with BSS/OSS background and web based technology development is a plus. Other Qualifications * Strong communication skills * Strong interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with senior management and executive levels of staff * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Strong leadership skills * Ability to lead and/or influence multiple teams * Ability to quickly adapt to new projects and multiple programs as needed.
