*Position:* *Principle Storage Engineer* *Location* : *Denver, CO | Philadelphia , PA | Reston , VA* *Duration: 6+ Months * *Interview Mode: Phone / Skype * *Job Description:* • Responsible for design, development, implementation, and analysis of technical products and systems. Performs engineering design evaluations. • May develop a range of products. • Recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures. • May require a bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. • Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. • Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. • Works under immediate supervision. • Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. *Additional Skills:* • Deep knowledge of Openstack including CEPH, Swift, Cinder, Object Store, and other related technologies • Intermediate knowledge of Networking as it relates to NAS and other network based services. • Ability to interface with several internal customers simultaneously. • Strong interpersonal and communications skills. • Travel as required to support remotes site, estimated to be less than 20-10% • Knowledge of cloud computing virtualization software such as OpenStack and CloudStack is a PLUS. • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience • Review new technologies and participate in product development to meet changing business requirements • Share knowledge by effectively documenting work and training operations staff • Problem analysis and resolution of storage support issues working with Elastic Cloud Operations • Participate in Agile process to deliver on milestones and project based goals • Experience in planning and provisioning of datacenter facilities. • Ability to work with customers and maintain a professional attitude and provide exceptional customer service • Participate in on-call rotation of 24x7 support and be flexible in availability as needed • Perform internal training of storage services • Ability to manage long term, project/milestone based work with multiple teams.
