*Position : Senior Infrastructure Engineer* *Location : Phoenix, AZ* *Duration : 6 months contract* *Rate : $60hr CTC* Sr. Infrastructure Engineer, CMDB, Contractor, Phoenix DESCRIPTION: This position is to analyze and assist with configuring a system to discover, map, and store configuration information for our different data centers services. This system will be primarily used by our infrastructure team to better manage our assets, their configuration, and how they are connected RESPONSIBILITIES: - Will work to analyze and assist with configuring an asset discovery and configuration management database - Works hand in hand with project managers, engineers, administrators, and customers to deliver projects on time and in budget. - Will work to integrate the CMDB system into other applications that manage service requests, change management, monitoring, and automation. - Works with both managed data centers and self-managed data centers to integrate with currently deployed systems. - Develops documentation for requirements, architectural designs, engineering drawings and diagrams, as well as operational policies and procedures. - Encourages an environment of sharing and team work among the project teams. - Develops and documents best practices for system installation, deployment, and operation. - Manages technology proof of concept selection criteria, evaluation, and testing - Explores and stays abreast of new technologies that can bring value to the organization. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or 5 to 7 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. - 3-5 years of experience in the infrastructure engineering field - 3 years of experience designing and deploying HPs uCMDB/UD - Previous experience integrating CMDB systems with other tools such as service requests, change management, enterprise monitoring, and automation systems. - Previous experience with the following command line protocols - Shell, Bash, PowerShell, WMI, NTCMD required - Previous experience identifying security constraints around a CMDB environment - Previous experience working with customers to develop configuration items for a CMDB environment - Ability to work with a variety of departments and skill levels to identify configuration items that are needed by each department. - Excellent Customer Service Skills - Previous web services integration - Previous experience working with the ITIL and ITSM models. - Demonstrates good judgment and experience in technology selection and implementation. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Experience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Provide excellent customer service, leadership, communication, problem solving and decision making skills. - Demonstrate strong prioritization, time management and organizational skills. - Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations. Listens, understands, and gets clarification. Seeks other input at all phases of the project.
