Job Description:

·         The position involves consulting with clinical and business
operations, technical staff and users to evaluate training needs and create
the necessary training materials.

·         The instructional designer is responsible for conducting training
needs analysis for the business and developing all training materials,
communications and activities to meet the organization's job/role
requirements.

·         This position involves conducting ongoing evaluations and
assessments to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommending/
implementing modifications as necessary.

·         Works with SMEs to obtain training content and includes all
phases of ID including the analysis, design and development of online,
instructor-led and web-based training materials and start to finish project
management.

·         Participate in the development of overall training programs

·         Develop appropriate learning activities based on training designs
and learning objectives

·         Write scripts/talking points for learning activities including
leader and participant guides for instructor led training (e.g., trainer,
audio, video, case studies)

·         Write supporting materials for learning activities (e.g.,
agendas, schedules, quick reference guides, handouts, job aids,
trainer/learner guides, audio/visual aids)

·         Develop learning assessments for use before or during training
delivery (e.g., scenarios, case studies, questions, quizzes, knowledge
checks)

·         Develop tools/resources for evaluating/measuring post-training
learning effectiveness (e.g., surveys, interviews, focus groups,
observations checklists)

·         Demonstrate and apply knowledge of appropriate tools and
resources used to develop training content (e.g., Articulate, Articulate
StoryLine 2 Captivate, Camtasia, SnagIt, LMS, video development)

·         Obtain stakeholder and SME approval/sign-off of training
materials (following review cycles), and make needed revisions based on
stakeholder feedback

·         Setup and test courses on the LMS

·         Engage/collaborate with appropriate stakeholders and SMEs needed
to identify business needs, performance goals and gaps

·         Research/analyze data needed to identify/confirm business issues
(e.g., quality data, production data)

·         Conduct task analysis/research to identify the specific
knowledge, skills, behaviors needed to achieve desired performance levels
(e.g., focus groups, observation)

·         Conduct user/audience analysis (e.g., target audiences, current
skills, performance gaps, special needs, prior knowledge, attitudes)

·         Identify and communicate potential challenges/obstacles to
successful business outcomes (e.g., leadership buy-in, timing, cost, scope,
change management, technology requirements, incentives)

·         Identify and communicate appropriate solutions needed to address
identified business and application issues and needs (e.g., mobile learning
challenges, LMS and course issues, facilitator course challenges)

·         Determine project goals/milestones based on identified business
needs/timelines, and obtain appropriate approvals (e.g., go/no-go
decisions, checkpoints, project management and scope creep)

·         Identify measurement approaches and mechanisms to evaluate
success of the solution (e.g., quality scores, sales conversion rates, call
volumes, order volume)



Job Requirement

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

·         Ability to travel at least 10-25% of the time within the US

·         3+ years of experience developing training material for software
training course

·         5+ years with instructional design

·         Project management and project tracking

·         Expert with StoryLine 2, Articulate Suite and Adobe Captivate 8,
Snag-It, Camtasia

·         Experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint



Assets

·         Healthcare industry background

·         Experience working in a matrix organization

·         Experience in a classroom/facilitation environment

·         Working knowledge of claims processing

·         Must be well-organized and possess a high degree of attention to
detail

·         Ability to learn new product offering and functionality as
software updates are available
