*This Network Engineer II position is in Salem, Oregon and duration is 12 months. Interview will be via Skype or phone. My client requires candidates that meet the following requirements. Client does want both mid-level and more senior candidates for the four positions.*
Contractor will provide support to one or more aspects of the Project, including pre-deployment analysis of the existing device configurations, developing configuration files for the replacement devices, technical support of on-site technicians during the equipment replacement, and possible on-site installation and configuration for offices in the Salem metro area. Configuration work will typically be performed during normal business hours, however support and installation could occur after-hours or on weekends. Contractor’s Key Person shall have the following general skills and knowledge: - Solid understanding of network switching and routing - Strong troubleshooting skills - Knowledge of network cabling and fiber optic connections - Understanding of IP addressing - Understanding of 802.11 wireless network technologies - Ability to communicate directions clearly and effectively Contractor’s Key Person will have the following specific skills and knowledge: - In-depth knowledge/experience of how to configure Cisco routers and switches from the command line - Ability to build a router or switch configuration using a template and apply to a remote device - Specific knowledge/experience configuring and connecting Cisco 19xx and 29xx routers - Specific knowledge/experience configuring and connecting Cisco 3750 and 2960X series network switches - Understanding of Cisco VLANs, vrfs and routing protocols - Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and configuration issues remotely - Ability to configure Cisco wireless network access points using Cisco Prime Infrastructure - Knowledge/experience with Cisco ME38xx and Cisco 6807 switches a plus *TASKS AND DELIVERABLES* Upon a written request from Authorized Agency delivered to Contractor via Authorized Agency’s work ticket tracking system, Contractor will perform the Tasks defined below, and deliver to Agency the Deliverables required below for each Task. *Task* *#1: *Analysis and Configuration Deliverable 1.1: Contractor shall review current router and switch deployments and configurations at each site identified in a work request, and applying site-specific parameters to a template to create new configurations for the replacement equipment. Deliverable 1.2: Contractor shall optimize new configurations to ensure consistency of the connection assignments for uplink trunks, servers, wireless access points, firewalls, and user connections. Deliverable 1.3: Contractor shall develop a map, with input from ETS, to identify changes from the existing connections to the new connections to be used by the installers. Deliverable 1.4: Contractor shall provide remote troubleshooting assistance to technicians in the field with connectivity and operational issues that might occur during the installation process.
