Position Details: Position: VMware Consultant Location: Raleigh, NC Duration: 12 Months Description: Client is seeking a contractor to develop / build a VMWare environment responsible for hosting ArcGIS (ESRI) applications and associated services. Main responsibilities include: . Assisting with designing and managing ArcGIS servers . Optimizing and Tuning Servers in the environment . Troubleshooting ArcGIS Servers in the environment The activities of developing the ArcGIS Server environment are: . Working with primary customer to determine user requirements . Analyzing the requirements and issues . Assisting with designing the environment to house these services . Building the environment to house these services . Performing tests, QA/QC, and verifications of these ArcGIS services in the VMWare environment. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Required: . Extensive hands on VMWare & Linux experience . Extensive hands on experience with ESRI's suite of ArcGIS products, particularly the ArcGIS Server technology . Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret organizational and procedural problems in order to make recommendations and alterations to existing procedures . Considerable knowledge of the analysis process . Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form .
