*Hi,* *Please find below details for the position and send me your updated resume.*
*Position : Java REST API Developer* *Location: Rockville, MD* *Duration: 6+ months * *Interview: Phone then Face to Face* *Company & Position Overview:* Our client is at the forefront of technology, ahead of most private sector firms, and is committed to using open source and cloud computing technology to transform not only their business, but also the open source and cloud computing industries as a whole. Our client wants technologists who will contribute to and utilize open source software and packages, such as Apache Hadoop, Drupal, Hbase, Tomcat, Spring, Memcached, MySQL, Angular, Karma, Jasmine, Bower, Grunt, jBPM and projects from the Eclipse Foundation among others. Our client, the largest Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner for data services, is looking for top talent to join their elite team of technologists to build and contribute to large-scale, innovative projects. Our client wants candidates who are eager to learn and grow with them as they work to move their market monitoring applications to modern big data platforms in the cloud where up to 60 billion market events are being processed each day. If you are a fast learner, have a sharp mathematical and technical mind and are interested in working for one of the biggest data users in the country in a fast-paced, open source environment, our client has an immediate need for an API Developer to develop services used to manage the publication and consumption of relational data. Producers and consumers will be on premise and in the cloud (Amazon Web Services). Ultimately all producers and consumers will be using AWS Relational Database Service instances for their relational data. Your focus with be development of middle-tier logic in the form of web services and background processes that integrate with the organization's Herd data management platform and the AWS Data Migration Service. This logic will facilitate the sharing of relational data across the enterprise, so a strong understanding of relational databases and enterprise data integration is required. This software infrastructure must support a heterogeneous and rapidly changing technical environment so solid object-oriented design and programming skills are also essential. The ability and willingness to mentor other developers with differing technical backgrounds on API development is desirable. *Responsibilities*: - Develop and deploy REST based web services, background processes and CLI utilities. - Develop automated unit tests and help foster test-driven development mentality. - Build reusable code and libraries for future use. - Development team will perform data integration tasks using platform under development until platform is mature enough to be made available for general use. - Work with other developers new to API and OO development. *Skills and Qualifications:* - Proficient knowledge of Java. - Strong grasp of OO design principles and ability to communicate and use effectively. - Experience with web services development, preferably REST. - Understanding of and commitment to test driven development. - Experience with SQL and stored procedure development for at least one relational database, preferably more (especially Oracle and Postgres). - Good communication skills. *Preferred*: - Professional experience with AWS. - Proficient with one or more templating engines (e.g., StringTemplate, Apache Velocity) is desired. - Python experience. *Critical Notes:* · Roles are related – a project called DSH, migrating to the cloud, not a lift and shift. Involves leveraging AWS, running postgres on RDBS and Amazon. Need to run in parallel to what’s in place. One leading the effort, one developing on it. Working with current DSH team. · Don’t need to have been DB developer but need to be familiar with Oracle. Not typical spring hibernate, mvc candidate, likely these technologies not at play here. More building restful web services. · AWS skill is a plus · Solid development · Comfortable in Agile environment · Typical java needs are because they’re standing up an application with spring, tc server · This is a pool for java teams to publish data for internal use. Command line interface, not a standard UI on top. If any hibernate, wrapping existing amazon data migration API’s more than any hibernate. · Data publishes product into the hub and users · Define interface and set replications schedule to publish into hub, consumer to req access, query metadata with publishes made available in that hub *Thanks and Regards* *Vikas Gupta* *Sr. Technical Recruiter* *Srimatrix Inc.* Direct: 4692098270 [email protected] -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Oracle-Projects" group.
