*Position: SQL DBA Location: Woonsocket - RI Duration: 12+ months* *Responsibilities:* This position required experience with installing and maintaining SQL server 2014, 2012, 2008 and 2005 databases in standalone and cluster environments (experience with SQL 2012 & 2014 a must). Build, upgrade and migrate SQL server from its lower version to latest version is an essential. *Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills: *8 + years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices 6+ years Microsoft SQL Server experience. SQL Server 2005, 2008, 2012 and 2014 knowledge is must. Database Administration Database Tuning Database Management Database Security RDBMS Apply hotfix patches Migration of old SQL DB to New version of SQL Good interpersonal, written and oral communication skills Good Technical documentation skills Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language Self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization, using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Experience with HA and DR methodologies (clustering and Mirroring, Replication and Log shipping) Experience with backups, restores and recovery models.
