Job Title: SQL Server DBA Job Type: Contract to hire Duration: 6 – 12 months *Location : Minneapolis, MN* *USC or GC or EAD’GC* This position is responsible for logical and physical database design, implementation, security administration, capacity planning, and performance tuning in support of application development. This position also performs research and evaluation of new tools and develops policies, standards and procedures related to the database environment. *Position Responsibilities* · Creates logical database designs in coordination with software developers · Designs physical database structures · Implements database structures · Participates on numerous application development projects with medium to high complexity · Performs capacity planning · Plans and executes performance tuning to support application service levels · Researches, evaluates and recommends new tools and techniques · Develops policies, standards, and procedures related to the database environment · Supports database backup and restore functions · Reviews stored procedures for adherence to standards and performance requirements · Develops and maintains documentation · Performs other duties as needed *Qualifications* · 3+years experience administering and designing MS SQL server databases · Knowledge of application coding is helpful · Strong oral and written communication skills · Work with other DBA's, software developers, and other internal teams · Ability to work successfully both independently and in teams · 1+ years of database tuning experience · Experience with monitoring tools and stored procedures *Preferred skills* · Interest in learning new technologies (ie, Mongo) · Exposure to or knowledge of SQL in the cloud Thanks $ Regards Shilpa Gaba Technical Recruiter Sage Group Consulting,Inc.
