*Role : Senior level Data Modeler Location : West Chester, PA
Duration : 6 months*
*Position Summary:*
The successful candidate will *create or modify data models*.
*Required Skills and experience:*
· *5- 7 years* of experience in *data modeling* – at the logic and
physical level, with a strong focus on* OLTP*.
· *Dimensional modeling* experience is plus.
· Understanding of normalization of entities and tables; ensure use
of proper constraints, naming standards, data types and lengths.
· *Teradata experience* is must have.
· Transform logical data model to physical data model.
· Generate DDL from physical data model for database implementation.
· Document data mapping – source to target.
· Work closely with business analyst(s) and IT resources to
decipher business requirements and translate them to a logical data model.
· Good communication skills – able to explain and walk through
design concepts to various resources (business, application development and
management)
· *Retail experience *
*Required Technologies*: OLTP RDBMS, data modeling tools (Erwin 9.5, Model
Mart), proficient with writing SQL, SQL tools (AQT, SQL Navigator), OLAP
(Teradata, Netezza), Data warehouse schemas (Star, Snowflake), dimensional
data modeling
*Deliverables and other requirements*:
· Deliver analysis, design, build and refactoring of conceptual,
logical and physical data models as requested by Data Architect and/or
project team according to the project plan.
· Communicate with project team members to deliver data models to
meet data requirements as requested by data architect and/or project team.
· Create all documentation and deliverables in accordance with
guidelines and standards
· Review all relevant documentation to ensure compliance with
standards
· Attend team meetings
· Provide weekly status report of progress and hours worked
· Record time in time reporting system (EPM)
