*Job Description:*

·         •    Develop and implement a plan to harden Linux servers across
multiple project sites, including removal of unneeded packages, testing and
implementing an SELinux ruleset, complete migration from DSA to RSA keys,
and enabling firewall.
•    Document and implement a plan to maintain configuration control and
tested upgrade paths for Linux servers running Fedora Linux.
•    Develop a plan to normalize server configurations and installations
across a variety of projects, including the implementation of standard
monitoring tools and other methods of standard data export to ensure system
environments are correct and operating properly.
•    Oversee server outage periods for the purpose of software upgrades and
other changes needed in a production environment.
•    Conduct 24x7 support in a big data environment.
•    Develop tools to automate the deployment of standard server builds to
machines such that these machines can be configured, delivered, and
monitored at scale. This includes Bash, Python, PHP, and Ruby scripting.



*QUALIFICATIONS:*

The preferred candidate will have Bachelor (4-year) degree, with a
technical major, such as engineering or computer science or appropriate
industry work experience. The ideal candidate will possess:



*Required Experience:*

• Red hat and Delian based distributions
• MySQL/MariaDB
• Network Attached Storage - (Synlology NFS)


*Preferred Experience:*

• Amazon Web Services (EC2, RDS)
• InfluxDB
• ZenOSS

• Splunk
• Ruby on Rails



*Requirements:*

·         Strong knowledge in LINUX Operating Systems –Fedora Core
(x86-64), Delian 7 (arm), Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS (x86_64)

·         Experience / basic knowledge in Network Storage – ISCSI, NAS,
Remote backup

·         Experience/ Basic knowledge in Networking and Security – Cisco
switches, routers and   firewall management

·         At least 5+ years’ experience in advanced LINUX server
troubleshooting

·         Excellent communication skills and ability to interact
professionally with a diverse group of clients and staff in difficult or
conflictive situations.

·         Ability to quickly learn new technologies and keep abreast of the
latest technological advances.

·         Strong individual initiative and ability to work with minimal
supervision while being a collaborative team player.

·         Ability to work dynamically, across multiple teams and projects
concurrently, in a technical business environment.

·         Possesses an entrepreneurial drive for getting things done and a
“whatever it takes” attitude.
