Job Title: Cloud Architect / Administrator
Job Type: Contract to hire

*Job Description*
The Cloud Architect / Administrator is a key member of the team responsible
for the successful deployment of the Astea Alliance product into a Cloud
environment (e.g. Amazon, Azure) for customers. This person will manage
most technical aspects of the implementation and support effort for their
assigned projects to ensure they meet project requirements.
*Essential Duties and Responsibilities:*
- Well versed with both Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Windows Azure
Platform, Computing (Web Role, Worker Role) and Storage services (table
storage, blob storage, Drives) and Scaling
- Good understanding of AWS and/or Azure Deployment
- Design Experience of cloud computing with both AWS and/or Microsoft
Azure, SQL Azure, Migrating application on Windows Azure
- Strong experience in design principles, Pattern and Practices,
Security and data presentation
- Deep experience across the Microsoft Application Platform, including
Web, Windows, .NET Framework, SQL Server and Portal technologies
- A solid understanding of cloud computing, IAAS, PAAS, SAAS and Cloud
design patterns
- Experience in Windows Azure Technologies (CDN, ACS, Notification
services, SQL Azure, Blobs, Traffic Manager) and/or Amazon Web Services
(IAM, EC2 Instances, ELB)
- Experience in implementing dynamic scalability and reliability in AWS
and/or Azure
- Conduct application performance Tuning analysis of production
environments
- Provide technical system solutions including hardware platform
configuration recommendations
- Maintaining and monitoring systems, including responding to
monitoring.
- Planning, implementing and controlling user rights and access
- Familiarity with distributed web application (.NET, DCOM) architecture
- Familiarity with compliance requirements like SSAE16, SOC-2
- Database management (MS SQL Server)
- Networking and security experience in a production or operations
environment
- Fulfill assigned technical duties on projects in a timely, effective,
and accurate manner in a team setting
- Manage platform and solution design issues to ensure system
availability and to maintain optimal performance levels.
- Interact with customers and install critical software application
patches
*Qualifications:*
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics,
Business Administration
- Advanced Degree in related fields of studies or experience desired
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience architecting a complex software
solution to meet the business needs of large scale hosted service
operations. Person possesses practical experience with:
- System and end-to-end solution design
- Application performance assurance testing and tuning
- Data Integration design and deployment
- Application Architecture Security, Auditing and Log Troubleshooting
- Experience with SOA deployment architecture and concepts
- Intermediate to Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (i.e.,
Access, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Ability to show leadership by leading system architecture and
blueprint engagements in complex environments
- Preferred 1 - 2 years’ experience in a customer facing consultative
role
- Excellent interpersonal skills to work with clients, senior
management, executives and/or other technicians on critical issues,
presentations, planning, etc.
- Available for occasional business travel
