*Role: QA Functional Testing* *Rat: $50/hr* *Duration: 1year* *Location: NY* *Must have investment banking experience*** The Quality Assurance (QA) Function within this program supports both the Functional QA and Release Integration Test (RIT) functions within this program. QA Functional Testing is a thorough business functional test of new software to verify that it meets business requirements and supports the set-up and test execution for the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) . This also involves supporting the delivery of entrance criteria and supporting test check-out for RIT. Release Integration Tests (RIT) involves running a comprehensive test across all global projects of the entire OPERA night cycle as a whole as operated in production. *MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE: *** Manage NY FIT/RIT l testing including coordinating creation of test strategy, test plan, test cases, test data, FE2E testing, regression testing, system integration testing. Set-up and execute functional tests including preparation of Control M schedules, obtaining required test files and running scripts either manually or via Control M to execute tests. o Defect Management for OPERA Functional and FIT/RIT tests using Mercury Quality Center o Drive consistency in the use of defect mgmt tools and workflow across the program o Proactively maintain the integrity of the data in the defect database o Produce defect metrics for use by the project mgrs and reporting to program mgmt o Prepare weekly status reports including identification & tracking progress of issues, action items, risks associated to DQ workstream. *o Accountable for holding daily defect review meetings with key stakeholders* o Drive follow-up with various teams to progress and bring closure to outstanding issues/actions. o Interface with staff at all levels across multiple departments, in particular the business and IT and coordinate consensus across the groups o Proactively identify and address gaps in existing defect mgmt processes and procedures o Planning & Execution of Automation projects using MS Project, and Mercury Quality Center. o Plan, Create and Maintain – Automation Scripts, Performance/Load Scripts and QC Scripts. o Responsible for Manual and Automated Test Execution o Interfacing with development and business analysis teams o Test data generation and Test data procurement from production systems to support regression testing o Responsible for automation of night cycle job schedule under the Control M cross platform scheduling software o Responsible for Manual and Automated Test Execution under Control M o Deployment of all software components from the development environments into the various QA Test environments o Utilize Mercury Quality Center for test planning, execution and defect tracking o Data validation using database query software including Embarcadero Rapid SQL and PL/SQL developer. o Issue reporting and tracking, including management reporting on test progress and metrics using Quality Center. o Trouble shooting with development and business analysis teams to proactively analyze and determine root causes for defects detected *Essential** * 5 to 10 years work experience with project lifecycle & specifically defect management on large projects 5 to 10 years work experience with QualityCenter, QualityCenter/Test Director Administration & QC coding. * 5+ years work experience with Test Automation using Control M, PERL or other UNIX scripting software, Web logic, JAVA and Business Objects for reporting.* *Testing & Test Automation experience including multiple phases of testing (functional, end-to-end, data quality, etc.)*** *5- 10 years project mgmt experience** * Should have (can do without if ‘Must Haves’ are present) o Knowledge on QA process/methodology i.e. Waterfall or Capability Maturity Model comprehension o Experience in Issue reporting and tracking preferably with tools such as Mercury Quality Center o Software Development Life Cycle (Good knowledge) *Desirable** * o Experience with supporting functional QA testing o Experience with Informatica’s Powermart data migration and data warehouse software o Kintana SCM toolkit o PL/SQL o Knowledge of VBA for excel and MS Access o Experience with deployment and configuration of web based interactive Business Objects reports o Configuration of Java and Web logic in support of QA testing o Experience with production support of complex overnight scripted night cycle. o Good understanding of application programming interface API (at least be able the use Visual API in Mercury Quality Center) Shailaja Aim Computer Consulting N.
