Description
We are seeking a Senior MicroStrategy Developer who will assume a technical
leadership role in the design, structure, and efficiency of the data
warehouse supporting our client, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) in our Columbia location. He will work on assignments of a complex
nature requiring a creative yet practical approach to software design and
development; will apply principles, processes, experience, and expertise to
complete, implement and analyze solutions for activities and projects.

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*
- Contributes to requirements determination process, identifies and
documents needs for changes to requirements.
- Gathers and translates multiple business process and requirements
into an enterprise business intelligence strategy and architecture.
- Facilitates modeling sessions and design walk-throughs with
Business, DBA, and development team members
- Works with technical architects on infrastructure, database
architecture and configuration, sizing and implementation of
infrastructure
supporting data warehousing.
- Design, implement and deploy Microstrategy business intelligence
solutions (applications and technologies which are used to
gather, provide
access to, and analyze data and information about company operations) for
end-to-end data warehousing and analytics.
- Create functional requirements as an input to application design.
- Develop and test detailed functional designs for business solution
components and prototypes.
- Supervise application build, test and deploy activities.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:*
- Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field.
- 8+ years of experience in design and development of enterprise level
reporting solutions
- Experience with MicroStrategy web and desktop environments – creating
prompts, metrics, filters, visual insights, intelligent cubes and documents
- Experience in MicroStrategy configuration and administration
- Experience working with large sets of data, tables, pivot tables, and
to synthesize & simplify it into easily understandable graphical and chart
representations
- Strong experience in data analytics, enterprise report writing,
developing dashboards and facilitating ad-hoc reporting capabilities
- Strong understanding of relational data structures, dimensional
data/data warehouse modeling and BI concepts
- Strong RDBMS concepts, with working experience on Oracle or SQL Server
- Experience in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries using tools
like Toad or Aginity
- Experience interfacing MicroStrategy with Netezza is a plus
- Knowledge in web application development using on Microsoft .Net
technologies is a plus
- Familiarity with Agile, Scrum software development methods
- Ability to work with minimal supervision on the full life cycle of
software projects, from requirement documentation to successful
implementation and support.
- Extensive knowledge of terabyte DW concepts, architectures, master
data management
