The Telecom Engineer may also be responsible for the end-to-end installation of cable, wiring & related equipment. * *The contractor’s primary responsibilities will be to assist with and provide transition services help for the voice telecommunications transition from Level 3 to the Verizon platform * * OBJECTIVES OF ENGAGEMENT * *The objective of this engagement is to assist with the voice transition from Level 3 to the Verizon telecommunication company. * * TASKS TO BE PERFORMED * *1. Support the voice telecommunication transition by reviewing spreadsheets, orders in the Commonwealth Telecommunications Management System (CTMS) and answering customer and Verizon questions. * *2. Provide on-site customer service as needed. * *3. Support new Auto Attendant operations and implement engineering changes, new installation and design requirements as required. * *4. Provide customer service to sites that are transitioning. * * CONTRACTOR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS * *The selected vendor shall provide a consultant who will possess minimum of ten (10) years’ voice telecommunications experience and four (4) years experience in Octel solutions. The vendor shall supply a consultant who does not require training and who has supported the referenced technologies in the past two years. The consultant will have superior communication skills, both verbal and written. The consultant, and vendor, will be able to exchange information with all levels of DPW staff (management to end-user). Additionally, the consultant must demonstrate a skill set and experienced background in the following areas: * *• Experience in Octel technologies * *• Experience with CTMS, otherwise known as ISS. * *• Experience with Auto Attendant monitoring tools to identify performance or installation problems, develop, present and implement corrective actions. Monitor results to verify resolution.
