Design, develop, document, test, and debug new and existing software
applications and services for market sale. Serve as technical expert on
development projects. Participate in full development life cycle including
requirements analysis and design. Write technical specifications based on
conceptual design and stated business requirements. Support, maintain, and
document software functionality. Identify and evaluate new technologies for
implementation. Analyze code to find causes of errors and revise programs
as needed. Participate in software design meetings and partner with Product
Management to analyze user needs and determine technical requirements.
Collaborate with quality engineers to create and deliver test plans and
meet quality objectives. Mentor engineering colleagues in development best
practices and perform code reviews of peers code. The Platform Engineer
will work closely with peers around the company, primarily: Product
Management Software Architects Quality Engineering Project
*Management Duties and Responsibilities:*
Deliver products and services to solve business needs as defined in
partnership with Product Management
Communicate and collaborate with other Developers, QA Engineers, and
Architects in an Agile/Scrum environment as a Scrum Master to ensure smooth
operations in product development
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering peers through pair
programming, code review Integrate the latest innovations and industry
technology best practices
Write maintainable and clean code as a full-stack engineer working on
primarily back-end technologies Improve performance and robustness of
features through continual refactoring
Work on all phases of the development lifecycle, including continuous
integration, tests deployment, and refactoring
Develop patches to fix software bugs on a frequent basis
*Qualifications Required:* Minimum 6-9 years of experience with writing and
maintaining web-based applications leveraging a traditional MVC framework,
ideally from both front-end and back-end perspectives. Ruby on Rails and/or
AngularJS experience preferred, or a desire (and proven ability) to pick up
a new framework Excited to work in a fast-paced startup environment
