Ideal candidate will be highly skilled in both SQL Server and Oracle. Current team is proficient in SQL Server, not so much in Oracle. Ideal candidate will be able to help teach/mentor other team members in Oracle. After hours and weekend "on call" support duty will be required. Weekly rotation among several team members. Long-term demands of this duty may be expected to decline over coming year or so as we try to shift it offshore. Working with offshore contractors a plus. Communication is critical. Need someone who can listen and understand, and adeptly translate technical jargon to plain direct business language, summarize and tailor communications to different audiences (other DBAs, users, management), in both verbal and written forms.
