*BACKGROUND/PURPOSE   *



The business analyst (BA) must have strong technical skills, business
intelligence, and a full understanding of the needs of the customer. The BA
is responsible for analyzing and documenting the required data and
information; understanding business requirements, understanding both
technical designs and specifications and translating them into specific
software requirements.



The BA collects, analyzes, develops, documents, and communicates business
requirements to achieve business goals.



A BA should have strong skills in gathering and documenting business and
technical requirements, mapping business processes and data and system
workflows, facilitating gap analyses, and contributing to other written
business deliverables necessary to increase the business value and quality
of services and solutions while bridging the communication gap between the
business and technical staff.



The BA will help the business implement and sustain quality business
solutions by determining the requirements of a project, program, or
initiative and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, sponsors,
project teams, business leaders, and business owners.



The BA is responsible for working directly with customers, PMs, project
team members, enterprise architects, business decision makers, service
owners, business process owners, and a multitude of other roles to perform
the duties assigned.



*QUALIFIED CANDIDATE SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS, CERTIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE*



• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, information systems, or
a related field

• A minimum of five (5) years experience of relevant technical and business
work experience

• *Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) designation from the
International Institute of Business Analysis (llBA)*

• Ability to write technical documentation for the purpose of knowledge
transfer

• Ability to create documentation with the following software: Microsoft
Office products such as *Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio *



*DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES :*



• Works with business partners within one or more business function
project, portfolio, or customer group to align technology solutions with
business strategies.

• Assesses and advises on established corporate and/or technology
governance practices, and written policies and procedures, to promote
sustainable methodologies for business decision best practices.

• Establishes and maintains working relationship with business partners and
IT organization in order to provide effective technical solutions.

• Conducts data gathering and analysis to understand business strategy
requirements.

• Provides direction for short-and long-term planning sessions and provides
direction to ensure understanding of business goals and direction.

• Provides input from a business and IT perspective.

• Assesses client needs utilizing a structured requirements process
(gathering, analyzing, documenting, and managing changes) to assist in
identifying business priorities and advice on options.

• Develops, writes, and communicates business requirements and functional
specifications for the implementation of business solutions.

• Analyzes customer’s operations to understand their strengths and
weaknesses to determine opportunities for improvements.

• Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for
new technology.

• Provides factual content to feasibility study for standard development
projects and enhancements.

• Develops and assists business case development (i.e., research, data
collection).

• Develops user test cases and system integration testing and validates
test results during testing.

• Reviews and approve test plans and monitor testing process to ensure that
business results are adequately tested with minimal risk.

• Investigates, resolves, and escalates problems.

• Procures technical assistance to help in problem resolution.

• Keeps customers informed of problems, issues, and status.

• Analyzes performance metrics to ensure customer satisfaction.

• ITIL v3 Foundation Training Certification

• Lean Six Sigma Training Certification

• Agile Business Analysis Certification

• Experience using Microsoft SharePoint
