*Job Description:*
Responsible for Java/JEE application development that supports business
objectives to build a one of two next-generation platforms:
1. A user identity management platform for end-user provisioning, which
includes synchronization services with existing applications
and systems
2. A content delivery system for delivery of files, email,
encrypted email and faax between internal business units and external
financial institutions.
Analyzes, designs and builds component-based applications in a Web/internet
delivery environment, including introduction of an application layer,
modeling techniques, component and object-oriented design, and systematic
approaches to application integration. Works on new applications as well as
with enhancements to existing web sites, web applications, and
infrastructure. Performs hands-on coding.
*Required Experience*
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development/Engineering,
Mathematics or related discipline is required.
Five or more years of Java experience in completing and managing application
design, software development, maintenance and delivery with at least 5 years
experience developing JEE applications using MVC frameworks (Struts 2,
Spring MVC, etc.) running in the IBM Websphere container or equivalent
(JBOSS, WebLogic, etc.)
Minimum of five years of technical experience working in a collaborative
team using the Rational Software Architect IDE, CVS source repository
(experience with SubVersion for source code management is also desirable)
and JIRA issue tracking.
Strong experience with Web architecture and Web design and development tools
and languages, e.g. Spring, Struts, Hibernate, JDBC, XML, Web Services,
SOAP, JSP, HTML, Javascript, Ajax, JUnit, CVS, Subversion, Jira, MQ, JMS
Strong relational database experience (DB2, Sybase, SQL, Oracle
8i/9i/10g/11g). Strong background working in distributed Unix or Linux
environments.
Experience designing N-tiered applications, with multi-tier architecture and
production Internet architectures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a zest for producing
excellent production applications that meet critical business needs.
Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC),
with ability to own and author design, develop code, create junit test
plans, address defects found in QA and supporting deployment activities.
