Job Details:
• Follows and helps establish App. Dev. Software Quality Interface,
IT policies, procedures, and processes.
• Writes test cases, unit tests.
• Performs exploratory testing.
• Understands and implements RDBMS data modeling concepts and has
expertise in a client/server environment (TOAD, SQL*Plus, etc.).
• Writes structured maintainable and optimized code.
• Uses libraries developed by Priority Health when applicable,
recommends and/or creates new shared libraries and/or contributes to it when
necessary.
• Is comfortable working in Windows, UNIX, and Linux environments.
• Implements source control concepts and adheres to source control
standards.
• May be required to learn and share new languages or other
technologies.
• Helps establish a technical solutions strategy that is integrated
with the overall corporation and makes sure all solutions fit into it.
Customer Service
Understands how the managed care business works and how App. Dev.
applications can be used to address the needs of the business.
Teamwork
• Collaborates with customers and other teams on the development,
rollout and support of App. Dev. Applications.
• Performs and/or participates code reviews, design reviews,
concrete experiments.
• Delegates tasks when appropriate, and given opportunity.
Skills & Experience (in years):
• PL/SQL (5-7 years) required
• SQL (5-7 years) Required, Oracle is Must
• Perl (3 years) must
• .net (3 years) must
• Managed HealthCare (1 – 3 Years) is Must
Project experience using two or more of the following
technologies: Oracle RDBMS, PL/SQL, Oracle Reports, Perl, C++, C#, HTMLDB,
Microsoft .Net Platform, HTML/XML.
• Software development experience in the health care industry.
• A minimum of eight years of software development experience that
is relevant to the application development team.
• Must possess an understanding of software engineering principles,
and be able to articulate compelling arguments for and against standards,
roles, and processes. Expected to have an area of expertise within software
engineering for which he/she contributes to App. Dev. team.
• Must possess a strong knowledge of two or more relevant
technologies (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Reports, UNIX, Java, Perl, C++, C#,
Microsoft .Net Platform and RDBMS).
• Ability to make quality, independent decisions. Analytical
thinker.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently on multiple requests.
• Ability to speak English well enough to be understood by clients,
co-workers and the public. Must be comfortable interacting and representing
the team to end customers.
Education Required:
Masters Degree in software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
study.
