Typical candidate has 6-9 years relevant internet service development experience. Key contributor or recognized specialist in many or all of the following areas desired: - Domain expert in server-side Java development with proven experience writing software for scalable, fault tolerant systems. Thorough understanding of Java 5+ development standards (annotations, generics, etc) a must. - Strong Experience with availability, reliability, networking, databases, replication, fault-tolerance or other systems programming. - Excellent data design skills, particularly in horizontal processing environments. Understands scale, efficiency, and stability of data constraints in the manipulation of large amounts of data. - Familiarity with map/reduce frameworks desirable - Experience with relational databases (both transactional and non-transactional, preferably MySQL), database architecture, and distributed transaction management. - Demonstrated technical contribution to at least one major, mission-critical back-tier project or product, from conception to production release. - Experience building systems which apply Internet-scale architecture and design patterns - Experience or interest with persistence designs and patterns for multi-site and multi-data center operations - Operations experience within a 24x7 environment with complex, multi-tiered, highly scalable and highly available systems. - Excellent understanding of Agile development methods, particularly SCRUM and Test Driven Development.
