*JOB DESCRIPTION:*



Sr. SQL DBA in a global DBA services team supporting enterprise database
environments .Strong administration skills including installation,
configuration and troubleshooting of SQL Server 2005/2008 (R2) in clustered
A/A configuration.



   - *Strong migration experience to SQL 2005 / SQL 2008 R2**. *
   - Active participation in on-call rotation and disaster recovery tests.
   - Strong understanding of SSIS & SSRS. Knowledge of SSAS is preferrable.
   - Sound understanding of IT Risk Controls in banking environment with
   risk assessment and remediation.
   - Enterprise database policy implementation, access-controls
   certification and configuration assessments.
   - Documentation of standards, procedures and guidelines for global DBA
   services.
   - Effective troubleshooting and performance monitoring including
   bottleneck analysis and index tuning. Experience working with MS tech
   support.
   - Customer-centric support for development teams and external vendors.
   - Transactional & Snapshot data replication and monitoring.
   - Capacity planning including estimating consumption and growth
   estimates.
   - Patch Management including application of monthly patches & service
   packs.
   - Strong understanding of backup & recovery, weekly and weekend
   maintenance activities.
   - Experienced in batch scheduling using enterprise schedulers like
   Control-M or Autosys.
   - Good understanding of change management & problem management practices
   & procedures.
   - Project Management skills for environmental upgrades and system
   roadmaps.
   - Proficiency with project planning and coordination if necessary.
   - Clear & effective communication skills in a 24x7 coverage model.
