The focus will be on the use of ’Exhaust Data’ <http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exhaust_data>(user activity) in customizing standard search and result interfaces as well as developing ’interest networks’ allowing the interrogation of people/project scientific interests. For example, as a start, facilitating the query, ’users who looked at compound X also looked at compound Y’. The successful candidate will be skilled at data mining and analysis, comfortable at programming for prototyping. The candidate must be able to communicate with members from multi-disciplinary teams who can cleary document and explain analytical approaches and results. The project is expected to execute in 2 6 mth phases: a) first 6 mths focus on 1-2 systems in direct support of Oncology Exhaust Data needs b) second 6 mths incorporate learnings to date into wider efforts in Exhaust Data mining beyond Oncology, pending progress. *Responsibilities: *** - Capture, analyze, and identify patterns of user access to key scientific databases. - Prototype system enhancements through creative thinking and data-driven insights to improve usability and search relevance.
