*Job Title: Senior Cognos Developer ** Location: Schaumburg, IL (Need locals Face to face interview is must) Duration: 5-6 Months * *Project Background ** The User Reporting Initiative (URI) project is entering the next phase where specific reports will be designed, prioritized, and created for the user community. In order to achieve our objectives for timely delivery of reports and dashboards we will need a resource with the ability to create these items within our Cognos environment. The Cognos Consultant will have a number of key responsibilities including: Analyze, design, develop and deploy BI solutions via Cognos 8 reporting system and tools Develop and modify Cognos Framework Manager models and packages to satisfy information requirements. Develop and maintain business intelligence reports and dashboards using Cognos BI 8.4 reporting studios. Implement and maintain Cognos BI Transformer models and cubes. Use the Cognos SDK as needed to make needed customizations to Cognos reports Help to ensure the integrity, ease and maintainability of the overall business intelligence solution. Guide users and IT team members on Cognos BI development techniques and best practices. Provide insight and recommendations regarding Cognos administration, security, configuration, and monitoring functions. Requirements Minimum 6 years technical experience in business intelligence reporting. Minimum 2 years experience with Cognos 8.4 BI reporting studios (Report Studio, Analysis Studio and Query Studio), Cognos 8 tools (Framework Manager and BI Transformer) and Cognos Administration. Proficiency in Cognos SDK Programming. Able to translate high level or abstract ideas to specific Cognos requirements and deliverables Web development skills including javascript and html skills. Ability to work on multiple deliverables at one time. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision making and communication skills. Outstanding attention to detail, accuracy and quality of work.
