Sybase DBA 12+ Months Jersey City NJ Job Title : Sybase tuning specialist Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 5+ Technical/Functional Skills : Sybase ASE 12.5.x/RepServer 12.x and SQLServer Experience Required Covered in Roles and Responsibilities Roles & Responsibilities : The candidate should be experienced on both Sybase ASE 12.5.x/RepServer 12.x and SQLServer both from the infrastructure and application performance/tuning points of view. The DBA candidate will be dedicated to a single application group and will be mainly be responsible for : Migrating large Sybase Server ASE 12.5.x to newer hardware Setup new Sybase Replication server cluster on Linux and move existing replication to new servers Working with application team to do performance and tuning at the data server and application levels on ASE in preparation for a migration to SQL Server Work with application team on migration of Sybase databases to SQLServer Provide off-hour escalation for application team Other database related work for application team Knowledge of unix scripting, autosys, HPOpenView Service Center, EMC, iwatch, and VCS helpful.
