REQUIREMENT: Role: Application Developer Sr Minimum Years Experience: 5 Location: Jefferson Building *NEED STRONG ORACLE, ERWIN AND DATA MODELING* - Minimum of five (5) years as a Data or Information Architect or related experience preferred. - Proficiency with meta-data management tools, enterprise repository tools, data modeling tools and data profiling tools. - Full hands-on experience with the entire information System Life Cycle process. - Ability to deal with all levels of the business. The Data architect/modeler must have expertise/knowledge in the following * Technologies*: Data Analysis; Data Dictionaries; Data Integration; Data Integrity Data Movement (validation, clean-up, and mapping) Data Modeling: Dimensional, Logical and Physical Data Profiling; Data Quality; Data Retention/Purging Data Warehousing ; Database Design Distributed Data Management Enterprise Application Integration Metadata Registry Relational Databases Structured Query Language (SQL) Key Characteristics - Enthusiastic learner with an enquiring, creative mind, capable of lateral and multi-dimensional thinking. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills. Roles and Responsibilities - Works closely with key stakeholders and to determine present and future requirements and to develop data storage strategies to support organizational needs. - Consult, educate, and promote the use and enhancement of common data information models to the organization. - Focus on reducing data redundancy, fragmentation, elimination of unnecessary movement of data, and improvement of data quality. - Lead the design and implementation of complex logical data models and practices for data capture. - Diagnose, isolate, and resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure. - Implement data governance processes around meta-data to ensure an integrated definition of data for enterprise information, and to ensure accuracy, validity, and reusability. - Establish and enforce a framework of data definition standards, processes, principles and best practices aimed at maintainability, integrity, and streamlining development/deployment. - Collaborate with DBAs to facilitate the implementation, maintenance and integration of new data model structures - Produce detailed technical documentation, specifically business and data flow specifications, system documentation, and mapping diagrams. - Demonstrate awareness of market trends and global or regional data architecture practices. - Strong relationship management and collaboration skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills: written and verbal. Management - To manage and prioritize own day to day activities in line with corporate and divisional goals. Scope of Authority - To manage own workload and use initiative to work independently under minimal guidance or supervision. - To represent the BIC Data Administration team at events within BCBSM when required.
