*Job SUMMARY Description:* We are looking for a SAP Basis Administrator who
will participate on a global technical team supporting a medium base of SAP
users, developers, and analysts across the entire range of SAP application
technologies. The SAP Basis Administrator must adapt quickly to dynamic
environments, learn new technologies, and develop effective, efficient, and
documented solutions to complex problems.
The SAP Basis Administrator will provide hands-on administration for the
ongoing technical administration of a medium SAP environment. This
individual will serve as a subject matter expert and will leverage their SAP
Basis experience to administer and improve our existing environment as well
as to help develop strategies on current administrative procedure to improve
overall efficiencies within Basis Administrative support activities.
Necessary skills include a proven track record with troubleshooting and
performance tuning in a complex and expanding SAP environment, as well as
experience with installations, upgrades, support packs, and project
delivery. The ability to multi-task while working under pressure is a must.
The position is responsible for providing both system and application
administration to ensure the stable installation and operation of SAP
systems and components running on Solaris UNIX and Windows operating
systems. SAP support, monitoring and performance management of all Business
Suite components will be a major responsibility for this position. This
includes securing, patching, and system tuning at the application, operating
system, and database levels. Additional responsibilities include technical
configuration and maintenance, configuration of third-party software for
SAP, user administration, and batch and spool processing. The SAP Basis
Administrator also will interface frequently with functional and project
teams as well as with other IT Infrastructure teams such as the Basis Remote
Team, the Technical Services Team. Regular on-call and off-hour support is
required. The SAP Basis Administrator will report to the SAP Basis Team.
*PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
• Expertise in utilization of SAP Solutions.
• Expertise in SAP monitoring and performance management
• Perform security management by auditing and maintaining roles, privileges,
and user profiles.
• Knowledge in performing SAP application health checks and performance
monitoring.
• Working knowledge of configuring and tuning SAP databases, applications
• Analyze issues and use judgment to make decisions.
• Exposure in installing, patching and maintaining SAP applications
• Administration - Creation, copy, export, Remote Copy, Deletion, Securing
Clients and Assigning Logical System to client.
• Security Administration - Managing SAP servers, Create and Maintain user
Roles and Authorization profiles (PFCG), maintaining users in central system
by using Central Administration (CUA), monitoring user logins, user
sessions, restricting default login in instance parameter file, trouble
shooting user level problems to properly access the servers.
• Spool Administration - Configuring printers and trouble-shooting spool
request, deleting old spool jobs.
• Configure CCMS alerts integrating with Solution and Maintain Central
Monitoring system with automatic e-mail forwarding.
• Database Backup / Recovery, Monitoring, Trouble shooting the Backup
problems by investigating the cause like media failure or system failure or
some other reasons.
• Perform day to day procedures like Table space monitoring, File system
monitoring, Volume group monitoring, allocating data files and various other
house-keeping jobs.
• Scheduling and monitoring of batch jobs.
