LOCATION: MILPITAS, CA DURATION : 6-12 MONTHS Position Title Enterprise Operational DBA Position Details In this Enterprise Operational DBA position you will provide both MS SQL Server and Oracle administration support in a diverse environment, including working with a cross-section of internal IT organizations, including other DBA's, systems analysts, developers and the management team. You will provide MS SQL Server and Oracle administration, design, performance tuning and maintenance support while adhering to JDSU standards and quality control procedures. Provide off-hours maintenance and project support. Collaborate with development teams to tune new and existing database access interfaces. Analyze system performance, database performance, system health checks and implement tuning improvements. Contribute to architectural directions and new database features evaluation/implementation. Required Qualifications . BSCS or MS degree in computer science or related field, 7 or more years of relevant industry experience. . 5 or more years of database administration/design experience with RDBMS. . 3-5 years' experience with MS SQL Server 2005 and MS SQL 2008. . 3-5 years' experience with Oracle 10g and 11g. . Experience with MS SQL Server and Oracle backup and recovery techniques. . Proven experience in maintenance of MS SQL Server and Oracle. . Proven experience using Transact SQL, Stored Procedure and UDF. . Familiarity with SQL Server replication services. Familiarity with SQL Server clustered environment. . Familiarity with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, streams in a production environment. . Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems. . Demonstrated experience in tuning databases and its objects. Understanding of database indexes and index management. . Understanding of database design practices, including database normalization concepts. . Proven ability to work with in a team environment. . Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
