Job Title: Sr. UNIX Admin Duration: 12 months Location: Raleigh, NC or San Jose, CA Must-haves - Strong experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) Administration - Involved in a migration/consolidation from HP/UX or Solaris to RHEL - Strong experience with EMC products - Enterprise level experience - Datacenter environment - Experience in led UNIX OS Patching/upgrades - Storage consolidation/migration/refresh - Background in Systems Administration - Unix SysAdmin (Linux, HP-UX, Solaris, etc.) and/or Storage admin (EMC, NetApp, etc.) - Strong history in data center server environments (Unix/Linux & Storage) - Good to have Virtualization Background - Knowledge and experience in virtual infrastructure (VMWare) - Spreadsheet Analysis - Propose solutions with accuracy - Data Breakdown Analysis - Project Management experience within 5 years and minimum of at least 3-4 yrs of PM/Service Lead experience - Excellent skills in MS Excel (analysis) and MS PPT (being able to put plans and status together for client and management meetings) - Great communications skills, ability to work effectively with IT clients (many of which are not versed in server technology) - Exposure to ITIL framework -! Incident Management/Problem Management utilizing Remedy7 - Change management & Release Coordination - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Proven ability to manage competing high priority tasks and the ability to multitask - Strong team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others - Independent, Accountable, Sense of urgency, Flexible and adaptable Plusses - Experience in driving OS patching, Server HW refreshes or Unix/Hosting related projects in the past - Prior experience in coordinating Storage Consolidation/Migration/Refreshes - Strong Sysadmin/Storage admin technical background prior to taking up project management - Prior experience in Service Lead or Project Manager role covering one or more of these - Incident/Problem management, Storage Consolidation/Migration, Unix OS Patching/Upgrades, etc. - Globalization exposure - Previous experience working with engineers across different region (US, Europe & Asia) Day-to-Day looking for an experienced UNIX administrator. Ideally this person has enterprise level experience in a data center environment and is able to break down information within the data center in order to propose solutions and collaborate executive level presentations to stakeholders. If this person has experience in coordinating storage consolidation, migrations, and refreshes that would set them apart.
