*Job description:*

SharePoint 2010 Farm administrator responsible for the administration of
SharePoint 2010 Internal and External farm and FAST search servers.
Specific duties and responsibilities:
• Administrative tasks for servers connected to both intranet and extranet
SharePoint farm environments
o Ensure the integrity of the SharePoint environments including
implementing application service packs, cumulative updates, upgrades and
migrations and performance tuning
• Setup and configuration of SharePoint Services
• Maintain Web Front End servers, Application/Central Administration
servers, and connected FAST Search Servers
o Create and maintain site collections
o Qualify, install and maintain plug-ins, features, web parts, templates
and solutions including 3rd party software and applications
o Implement and maintain search services, including defining search scopes
o Implement and maintain user profile properties, including the MySites
functionality
• Communicate best practices and established policies to site owners
• Work closely with development teams and QA manager to ensure application
governance model is enforced
• Daily monitoring and reporting of the production SharePoint environment
o Prepare health reports and weekly & monthly statistical reporting
• Trouble shoot escalated SharePoint issues including farm infrastructure,
services, features, and user issues
• Assist in establishing a Disaster Recovery Plan in order to provide for
high availability of the production farms.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related Information Technology field of study or a
High School Degree and a minimum of 2 years of experience working with a
SharePoint environment.
• Available to work off-hours and weekends for system patching,
maintenance, upgrades and migrations on production SharePoint systems
• Proven experience as a SharePoint Server 2007/2010 Administrator
• Possess a solid working knowledge of Windows 2008 Active Directory
architecture, server roles, domain relationships and OU structures , FQDN
• Experience with administering SharePoint Server 2007/2010 hosted within a
Virtual Server environment, IIS7/7.5, MS SQL Server 2008, SAN technologies
(LUN’s, virtual disk), networking concepts (DNS, TCP/IP, AD, SMTP),
monitoring tools, Office 2007/2010 relationships and interaction, and
scripting languages (Windows PowerShell, SharePoint PowerShell)
• Ability to work with a collaborative team of IT/IS administrators and
developers
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with strict Change Control procedures in regulated
environments
• Ability to be a self-starter within a fast-paced, ever changing
environment
• Proven experience in customer service and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Visual Studio and/or SharePoint Designer for the purposes
of site creation, design, and solution (WFE) deployment
