specifically with IMS back-end applications and J2EE front end.
Team Lead\Mentoring Capability
Ability to act as lead developer in an agile software development
environment.
*Summary*
Client has a legacy application that services their 2500 North American
dealers. The application applies complex logic when a dealer closes a
sale. The sale of a unit will include negotiated price, a series of
rebates or promotions, varying levels of financing and other factors that
will end up in a final number. In all there are up to 30 factors that
impact the final price.
The back end system is on IMS on the mainframe. Like many
applications\databases, it has taken years to develop and map to the
current business processes. The challenge is the dealer-facing application
that interfaces with the back end. It is character –based and cumbersome
at best. The manager wants to redesign the dealer-facing application using
J2EE and re-architect the back end to create a web service-based system.
The IMS system will not be replaced but must be modified to work with the
new J2EE front end so the entire solution is based on SOA.
