Job title: Technical Manager J2EE Applications Location: Atlanta, GA Duration: 6 to 12 months Job description: Excellent opportunity for a Technical Manager who is competent to work on complex projects and applies an in-depth knowledge of project leadership, engineering/automation concepts, practices and procedures. The technical manager provides leadership in the design and development of the business application components. This candidate will be responsible for leading and managing technical resources responsible for the design and development of components of a complex JEE application for a large web application hosted on a UNIX platform. The Technical Manager will have the responsibility to identify resources needs based on existing and forecasted projects, skill set demands and overall program vision to support product and professional services initiatives. REQUIRED: * Must have at least 10 years of I/T delivery experience on a variety of platforms and technologies. * Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment. * Must be able to lead multiple project teams across the organization in a complex and rapidly changing environment. * Must be able manage resources that are not direct reports. * Must have experience with recruiting resources to build out a team. * Must have experience conducting employee performance appraisals. * Must have experience managing teams of 50+ resources. * Must be able to work in a highly matrixed environment. * Must be able to work with senior level management and executives to clearly communicate the direction and plan for the team. * Must be able to create and maintain a project plan. * Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written. * Must have worked on projects that are geographically dispersed including offshore. * Must be able to effectively work with customers and third party vendors. * Must have strong technical background with experience delivering distributed application using object oriented technologies. * Must have experience building applications with WebSphere Application Server or similar application servers. * Must have an understanding of implementing applications using JEE components (EJB, JSF, Web Services, JMS etc.). * Must have experience working in a UNIX environment, preferably AIX. * Must have flexibility to travel, if required. PREFERRED: * Ideal candidates will have prior health-care, insurance and/or Medicaid related experience, specifically claims processing and adjudication. * Prior Healthcare (MMIS) experience.
