Job Title: Java Developer Location : Fairfax VA/ Baltimore MD (2 positions) Duration : 6+ Months ******** Must be US Citizen or Green Card Only ******** Required Skills: Provides information technology consulting services to clients by performing the following duties: Develop functional and technical system design specifications in accordance with identified business/system requirements. Develop/program application components or functions in accordance with system design specifications. Perform quality assurance functions (unit test, integration test) on developed components to ensure compliance with established requirements and design specifications. Address/resolve software deficiencies in support of verification and validation activities. Develop mitigation or alternative system solutions when required. Contribute to delivery, production and operational readiness of systems. Contribute to production maintenance and application enhancement activities. Knowledge and Skills Minimum 5-6 years as application developer involved in mid-scale system development projects. Exposure to all System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases. Experience contributing to or managing the following SDLC activities: Systems design Systems development Integration and unit verification Validation, installation and deployment support Maintenance and operation support Experience with object oriented and open source programming languages and tools, web services programming, relational databases principles and programming language (SQL), web based GUI application design and development, open source software and open source implementations. Relevant technologies include: User Interface: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON, Velocity Templates Web Services: SOAP, REST, ESB Business Layer: JBPM, JBRMS, JMS Database: MarkLogic, XQuery, XPath, JDBC Framework: Spring Environment: JBoss (Application Server, Developer Studio), Java, J2EE 5.0, Linux Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Experience with Rule Management Systems and Business Process Modeling. Knowledge of Federal and State healthcare programs (i.e., Medicaid, CHIP, TANF) and related eligibility/enrollment principles, Health Insurance Exchange (HIX) principles including payer and plan data management, claims and encounter data. Understanding of Section 508 guidelines. Experience with CMMI practices and operating principles.
