Title: Sr. Java Development Contractor
Duration: 6+ months
Location: Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding area
Start: immediate
Rate: 50/-hr
Job Description
- *Responsibilities:*
- Apply broad application and system architecture and design
capabilities over many technologies to implement secure, robust,
transactional and service oriented architectures
- Understanding of the full application lifecycle from inception
through maintenance
- Communicate effectively with clients and interact with client's
Senior Management Team
- Understands the customer business strategy and goals and develops
technology solutions that deliver the required business value
- Work independently within the customer's environment
- Understand and apply design and modeling concepts at the system
level
- Act as a technical lead for a team developing system-related
components
- *Qualifications:*
- 7+ years of experience architecting and designing distributed
middleware systems (Background as a technical lead preferred)
- Work experience with one or more of the following:
- J2EE
- Web Portals
- SOA
- Enterprise Application Integration/Message Oriented Applications
- Web content management
- Work experience with IBM WebSphere Suite is a plus
- Work experience with relational databases and web application
servers
- Demonstrated ability to quickly and routinely solve complex
problems independently
- Ability to architect and design a system when presented with a
business problem
- Learn and apply new technologies quickly (recent examples include
Hibernate, Spring, Ajax and AOP)
- Work experience with mainframe, legacy and/or packaged application
integration is a plus
- Diverse work experience implementing legacy technologies is a plus
- Willingness to learn fast with a "roll-up-the-sleeves" and "get the
job done" attitude
- Work well in a team environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Travel flexibility and consulting experience a plus, but not
required
