AIX Admin
Location:  Plano, TX
Start: ASAP
Type: Contract

Feedback:
· Need hands on knowledge on installing and configuring applications in
AIX or writing scripts.
· Definitely strong knowledge on AIX concepts - HMC, LPAR, DLPAR, NIM,
Dual VIO, NMON etc
· Excellent knowledge on Scripting (any of the scripting language
including Kron, Perl etc)
· Coordinate with App development team and should be able to deploy
applications
· Good knowledge on Web services, Application Server, database etc -
conceptual knowledge and able to install and configure applications
· High availability, DR concepts etc

· Strong AIX administration
· Provide daily lights on support activities inclusive of on-call
rotation responsibilities, change control representation and incident / problem
management response being pro-active, identifying efficiencies and process
improvements where possible
· Upgrade all AIX 6.1 application supported systems from AIX 5.3 to AIX
6.1. This will allow us to obtain and maintain appropriate support from IBM and
other application vendors.
· Deploy new disk monitoring script to all AIX systems. This will allow
us to provide the applications team more leverage in monitoring application
disk space capacity, while reducing the amount of lights on work required by
the Open Systems team.
· Continue to maintain and manage the team NIM server for all system
deployments. Look for new ways to leverage NIM to reduce lights on work.
