Job Description
Our client is looking for a Senior *UNIX Administrator* that will involve
in day-to-day administration & monitoring of Solaris & AIX Operating
Systems on enterprise servers.

Assuming this role, you will maintain 24x7 system availability of the
Commercial Card PaymentNet Platforms. You will support rotational
production on-call duties, including but not limit to:
* Solaris/AIX System Administration: acknowledge, troubling shoot, and
resolve Peregrine tickets; perform root cause analysis; install OS patches,
packages, and hot fixes; hardware and software upgrades; backup;
disk/cpu/memory monitoring; performance tuning; capacity planning; system
integration; and other on-demand requests
* Application Support: daily code deployment and batch job support. Work
with application developers, project managers, and application production
support staff to identify and solve applications related issues. If
necessary, steer others to follow the UNIX security best practices
* Design & Architecture: Work with architects and lead engineer for
platform design projects. Recommend and prepare system improvement
roadmaps, take guidance wherever necessary

Senior *UNIX Administrator* Qualifications:
* Customer focused team player with pristine integrity
* Minimum 5 years of hands-on Solaris 10 and/or AIX 5.3/6.1 production
support experience in a medium to large company, with good knowledge of
UNIX server virtualization internals
* Week night and weekend work for system maintenance and requires to carry
a pager 24/7 when on call
* Good knowledge of installing/managing AIX, VIO, LPAR, HACMP, GPFS -
required
* Good knowledge of installing/managing Solaris, LDOM - required
* Good knowledge of installing/managing SAN, NAS, Disk-LUN mapping -
required
* Good knowledge of network protocols (i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP, SNMP, NTP),
configuration & troubleshooting connectivity problems (i.e. HBA, fiber
channel) - required
* Shell scripting, Perl experience - required
* Ability to troubleshoot problems, performance tuning & analyze
performance statistics
* Ability of documentation, communicate with the clients, and verbal
agility are strong assets
* WebLogic, Oracle, DB2, DataStage, Business Object supporting experience a
plus
* College or Graduate Degree is preferable
