My client is looking for a BO Universe Architect/Designer in NYC. Title: BO Universe Architect/Designer Location: NYC Duration: 06 Months Relevant Experience (Yrs.): 6+ years Rate: $60/hr. on C2C (All inclusive) Job Description: · As a Business Intelligence Architect, you will guide the technical architecture of a new data warehouse which will be leveraged by a front end application. · The successful candidate should possess deep technical expertise in database design, warehouse modeling, ETL, reporting and analytics. · Candidates should have strong analytical and problem solving skills and enjoy getting hands on and building solutions alongside the rest of the development team, helping to define development patterns and instill best practices. Skills Required: · Minimum 8+ years of IT experience preferably in Business Intelligence with a minimum of 5 years of experience with Business Objects and at least 2 years as an architect of large scale data warehouses. · Strong BO Universe designer skills to design the semantic layer for operational reporting requirements and aggregated data marts. · Strong knowledge of database concepts as also data warehouse concepts and technologies. This includes data modeling, data sourcing, data transformation, loading, cleansing, data integrity checking and end user tools. · Expertise with SQL required including query tools such as RapidSQL, SQL Server Management Studio, etc. · Able to create complex WebI or Deski or Crystal reports (e.g. custom formulas and free hand SQL) and export the report into formats such as PDF, Word, PPT, XLS, CSV and XML. · Experience with developing advanced and highly interactive dashboard reports including pivoting and drill down functionalities, filtering and changing data sets including connectivity. · Exposure to ETL practices and tools like Informatica · Excellent communication skills are essential. Demonstrated skills in creative thinking, teamwork, problem solving, decision making, time management, and verbal and written communication are required. · Should have demonstrated capabilities in identifying, owning and resolving issues. Nice to Have: · Expertise with performance tuning large data warehouses · Exposure to the BOBJ product stack (Crystal, Xcelsius, Analysis, Explorer, IDT) · Understanding of SAP BO architecture and relative experience installing, configuring and administering Business Objects products · Exposure to the financial domain Qualifications: · BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience in a relevant field Responsibilities: · Design and develop a new BO universe on top of our existing database. Alternatively, design a flexible reporting schema based on existing database schema and create a BO universe on top of the reporting schema if the need for such a reporting schema is concretely justified. · Establish SDLC for defining, developing, testing and deploying reports · Work with business users, translate client user requirements into a technical architecture vision and implementation plan · Mentoring and developing junior staff · Determine improved Business Objects reporting solutions, and assist users in building reports. · Will be responsible to accomplish BO administrative tasks, including software upgrade, user setup, configuration, etc. · Develop and deliver training programs for users, in Business Objects report creation (WebI & Crystal) and Xcelcius dashboard creation. · Provide ETL support and universe creation and maintenance as appropriate. · Architect new data sources and make them available for reporting. · Support ERP system upgrades with no interruption in BI reporting.
