We are looking for an experienced Perl developer to work on a 6+ month
contract for one of our clients in the Information Security industry

**This position is 100% remote**

 *Candidate Responsibilities*

   - Design, build, and document internally developed custom test
   frameworks written in Perl to support testing of Perl Common Gateway
   Interface (CGI) scripts and Perl command line utilities.
   - Design, build, and document software tests for Perl CGI scripts, Perl
   command line utilities, and Perl modules.
   - Design, build, document, integrate, and test Perl CGI scripts using
   internally developed Perl modules and testing frameworks.
   - Design, build, document, integrate, and test Perl command line
   utilities and Perl modules.

*Desired Skills & Experience*
*Required Skills*

   - The candidate must be a team player/leader, but also be able to work
   independently and remotely.
   - The candidate must have strong problem solving and writing skills.
   - The candidate must have 5+ years of general software development
   experience with 2+ years of secure coding and 2+ years of software test
   writing.
   - The candidate must have working knowledge of Perl and Bourne/BASH
   shell languages.
   - The candidate must have experience writing Perl CGI scripts, Perl
   command line utilities, and Perl modules.
   - The candidate must be able to write unit tests and employ various
   testing methodologies.  The candidate must be particularly adept at
   identifying and completely testing positive, negative, and corner cases.
   - The candidate must have excellent knowledge of regular expressions.
   - The candidate must be familiar with Apache and JavaScript.
   - The candidate must be familiar with database technologies such as
   SQLite, MySQL, and PostgreSQL with the ability to create database schemas
   and write medium-to-advanced SQL queries.
   - The candidate must be comfortable with both procedural and object
   oriented programming.
   - The candidate must be comfortable working from the command line within
   *NIX environments.

*Desired Skills*

   - The candidate should be comfortable using CVS and SVN on a daily
   basis. Strong knowledge of other SCM tools may be accepted in lieu of CVS
   or SVN.
   - The candidate should have specific experience setting up and
   maintaining test suites and environments.
   - The candidate should have experience with the UNIX make build systems.

   - The candidate should have experience performing unit and/or
   integration testing.
   - The candidate should have experience designing/building/testing
   cross-platform programs -- especially for UNIX and Windows.
