My client is looking for a Linux Admin in NYC, NY. Title: Linux Admin Location: NYC, NY Duration: 12 Months Experience Required: 7+ Yrs. Rate: $55/hr. on C2C (All Inclusive) Main Function The candidate will work on migrating from Solaris to Linux operating system. The candidate will be required to modify Perl, Java and Shell scripts and regression test. The candidate will need to work with IT production teams to configure and build the new hardware. The candidate will also be required to work with downstream and upstream systems to test the changes. Main Duties Work with IT production teams to set-up hardware and necessary software Code changes to migrate existing code base from Solaris to Linux Unit testing of changes Regression test with all external and internal interfaces Engage with users for UAT Rework defects and take part in defect analysis Participate in code reviews. Preparation for production go-live Experience Required: Essential 2-5 years of work experience. Extensive Knowledge of Linux, UNIX and scripting languages (Shell, Perl) required. Must be a good communicator, problem solver and a team player. Good knowledge of batch type applications developed using Perl and SQL database. Working experience with Java and Tomcat web server is a plus. Knowledge of Messaging technologies (MQ) and Job schedulers (Autosys) is a plus.
