As a member of a project team, the Senior Java Developer will assume various roles including leadership positions as well as design, code and test roles. In addition, the Senior Java Developer may be assigned non-project or cross-project roles. Possible roles include support of other IT groups, cross-project oversight and development tool support. Project Functions: • Work with the development teams to refine and clarify requirements. • Work with architects on executing framework level changes impacting systems across the board. • Work with performance testing team to effectively performance test applications for environment and framework level changes. • Work with QA analysts to think find creative ways to test functionality and performance of applications for environment and framework level changes. • Properly track progress, effort, impediments and resolutions, by following SCRUM and Agile fundamentals. • Ensure that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of systems is in accordance with policies, procedures and guidelines, taking appropriate actions for all violations. • Ensure coding standard are being followed, including Unit Test coverage of code. Non Project and Cross Project Functions: • Provide technical leadership and mentor others in general technical skills as well as applications and processes. • Provide input into general architectural decisions and design stability. • Provide input to assist in team and project process improvement. • Mentor junior team members.
