*MUST HAVE HEALTHCARE EXPERIENCE* * ** * *Position: Oracle DBA* *Location: Danville, PA* *Interview Process: Phone and then Skype or Face-to-Face* *Contract Length: 6 Months to Life* ** * **Job Description:* Responsible for all Oracle database administration, architectural and development. Additional responsibilities include backup production support for mission critical applications residing on an Oracle platform. Reports to the Lead Database Administrator. *MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:*** * *2. Provides Oracle/os script development and support for Red Hat Linux running Oracle 11g. 3. Documents all Oracle based platform technical topology. *4. Mentors and assists with ANSI / SQl development and view creation for accessing Oracle database. *5. Works with the partners project manager in defining HSIS project schedules. *6. Assists data modelers in the design and implementation of physical database constructs in accordance with Oracle OLTP requirements. *7. Develops and supports an Oracle RAC high availability platform in accordance to development partners requirements. *8 Provides insight to Oracle replication options where required, makes recommendations and implements the solution. *9. Tunes the database for performance for all GHP Oracle database applications. *10. Develops and supports backup and recovery procedures for all GHP Oracle applications. *11. Performs all primary DBA tasks including creating user ids and roles and assigning privileges. *12, Provides production on call support on a rotational basis. 13. Coordinates with management to determine budget for areas of responsibility. 14. Performs other duties as required or assigned. *Denotes essential job functions. *** *SKILLS AND ABILITIES:*** *Demonstrates ability to see the big picture from the overall physical data management perspective. Demonstrated capability to use all Oracle OEM tools. Demonstrates ability to design efficient Oracle data structures for high transaction OLTP applications. Demonstrated capability to architecture and build optimal replication processes. Demonstrated capability to build an Oracle database on a RAC environment from the ground up. Demonstrated capability to work on a Red Hat Linux os platform. Demonstrates ability to design and implement backup and recovery procedures. Demonstrated capability to architect high availability and disaster recovery environments. Demonstrates ability to solve performance tuning issues using any type of index, object or partitioning. Demonstrates capabilities using structured query language (ANSI SQL). Demonstrated capability to perform all routine DBA tasks including creating user is, roles and assigning privileges. Demonstrates ability to coordinate diverse tasks. Demonstrates ability to analyze problems and formulate solutions. Demonstrates ability to work independently.*** *EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:*** * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field required. Minimum of 7-10years recent and progressive experience in Oracle Database Administration on Unix, or Linux platforms required. Minimum of three years experience on Oracle 10g or higher required. Oracle DBA certification preferred.
