JOB DESCRIPTION:*
This is a key systems engineering position supporting the Department of
Transportation in a fast-paced, high-energy, large program to transform
and modernize legacy software systems through implementation of a state
of the art field application.This application is part of an overall
modernization strategy being implemented including the creation of an
enterprise-wide Service Oriented Architecture (SOA).
*Primary responsibilities:
*
Will include the analysis, design, development, testing and sustainment
support of business functions developed and deployed within the
technology framework.Assignments may include the research, design and
implementation of framework extensions, third-party product or system
integrations, target platform ports, new and emerging technology
injection, security model enhancements, vulnerability assessments and
other technical assignments associated with the development and
maintenance of a state-of-the-art field application.Additional
responsibilities and experience include the ability to:
* Supports other Sr. Systems Engineers and Program Managers, as required
* Provide technical leadership and guidance to more junior members of
the development and test teams
* Provide strategic and architectural contributions based on past
experience, industry trends, emerging technologies and independent
research
* Provide support for critical production issues reported from the field
* Problem analysis, resolution design and estimation, resolution
implementation and testing
* Assist in refining SDLC practices, tools and processes to ensure
continual improvement in predictability, quality and timeliness of
deliverables
* Direct and support technical matters related to the development,
testing, and production environments
* Direct and support testing strategies including: continuous build,
automated regression testing, performance benchmarking, security and
vulnerability scans
*REQUIRED SKILLS:*
* At least 5 years developing Microsoft Operating System based client
applications facilitating continued operation in both attached and
detached states.
* Five or more years developing C# applications.
* Previous demonstrated experience developing Fat Client Applications
in C# in a commercial environment.
* Candidate must possess excellent written, verbal, and presentation
skills to facilitate communications.
*DESIRED SKILLS:*
* Past experience developing MVVM applications.
* Previous experience with the Caliburn micro framework, fluent
validation and db4o highly desirable.
Previous experience working FMCSA/DoT programs with existing security
credentials is highly desirable.
