Performance Test Lead
Location: Woonsocket, RI
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: $ 50/hr c2c Max

Role Description:
Leading the execution of performance tests scheduled during his or her 
respective shift. This includes:
Ensuring all team members properly fulfill their roles
Reviewing the results of tests
Leading the triage of issues, escalating where necessary

This role is basically technical facilitation and management.  A good fit 
candidate is a technician whose interested in transitioning to management

Technical/Functional Skills     :
-       Having worked on Unix commands and shell scripting.
-       Have worked on HP Load runner tool.
-       Having knowledge of oracle technologies Oracle 10g and PL/SQL 
(Understanding of Query plans, AWR Reports etc.)
-       Having understanding of performance testing (like CPU Utilizations, 
Response time, network latency, think time etc.).
-       Having good data collection/analysis/compilation/data comparison/data 
presentation skills.
-       Having knowledge of Java/J2EE technologies.
-       Understanding of any version management tool like SVN, VSS etc.
-       Understanding of and experience is leading development efforts on the 
J2EE platform. This is most important technical requirement.
-       Oracle DBMS for OLTP systems
-       Basic performance testing concepts
-       Conceptual understanding of systems architecture
-       Ability to learn new technical concepts quickly
-       Ability to apply technical knowledge and experiences to facilitate the 
resolution of various technical issues. Does not have to solve them alone, but 
must be able to lead a group of SMEs from different disciplines in order to 
arrive at a solution
-       Nice-to-have technical skills
o       Batch processing and concepts
o       Informatica
o       Network architecture
o       Storage architecture
o       AIX
o       Weblogic
-       Having good communication/presentation skills required for customer 
interaction.

Roles & Responsibilities    :
1.      Must have team lead experience (at least 5 people).
2.      Strong personality with superior written and verbal communication 
skills.
a.      PT Lab has numerous team members where English is a second language. 
Clear communications with diligent follow-up is mandatory.
b.      Must write detailed status and issue summations to ensure smooth 
transition between shifts.
3.      Process driven. Execution in the lab is heavy on process. Must be able 
to diligently follow processes and offer ideas on how to improve existing ones.
4.      Detail oriented.
a.      Aforementioned processes require details and clear documentation of 
issues and status. Details, details, details are mandatory.
5.      Multi-tasking
a.      There are routinely many parallel efforts and issues in the lab. PT 
Lead must be able to succeed in this environment.
6.      Leadership.
a.      Must lead with conviction. During 3rd shift, there is no escalation 
point. PT Lead must be able to make sound judgments with confidence when 
confronted with issues and decision points.
7.      Test Results analysis and review and report any anomalies.
8.      Test results data collection/analysis/compilation/data comparison/data 
presentation as part of results review.
9.      Proactive monitoring of system/resource utilizations/disk space etc.
10.     Follow up with different teams on any issues/alerts.
11.     Maintenance of Site scope monitors.
12.     Logs collection and logs analysis for any errors.
13.     Preparation of test execution steps based on the test execution plan 
(if required).
14.     Review of AWR reports and report on analysis.
15.     Collection and compilation of test results, report generation and 
creation of side by side comparison graphs in MS excel.
