Our direct client has an immediate need for the following resource: Position: Software Development Engineer Test Location: Lower Manhattan, NY Duration: 1 Year Contract to Hire Rate: $50/hour Our direct client is seeking a talented and creative Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) for our New York office, to champion testing and enforce the quality, performance, and scalability of the world’s top marketing analytics platform. Our Marketing Services - Global QA organization provides common processes; best practices across the Software Development Life Cycle; scalable testing infrastructure; well-trained manual, automated functional, and performance test engineers; continuous integration testing processes; commercial and custom-developed testing tools; objective metrics to measure quality; and an overall testing strategy to provide World-Class testing, globally. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: By working embedded within a critical development team of talented engineers you will: • Make a huge impact as an individual. • Work closely with Developers, Client Services, and test teams in New York, Burlington, Kuala Lumpur, and Costa Rica. • Actively engage with Technical Support team to understand and help resolve client issues. • Create effective test plans and test cases. • Perform white-box testing and increase code coverage. • Perform Functional, Integration, System, Penetration, and Performance Testing. • Perform Exploratory Testing and Regression Testing. • Build automated tests to validate application performance and functionality. • Analyze and interpret testing results. • Develop custom testing tools, if required. • Create logical work flow specification documents for application, if required. • Collaborate in the implementation of Continuous Delivery. • Collaborate with our global Testing Center-of-Excellence (TCoE) teams. • Effectively communicate the level of quality supported by relevant metrics. • Remain flexible and responsive in a dynamic environment and must be good at collaborating with stakeholders from multiple locations. • Drive continuous process improvement. Skills Required: • Must be a team player and work effectively in a high-pressure environment. • Must be willing to convert to a full-time employee. • Must have strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent. • Must understand Computer Science fundamentals in object oriented design, data structures, algorithms, and problem solving. • Must have 3+ years of relevant work experience. • Must have knowledge of the entire software development life cycle. • Must have experience programming in C# and JavaScript. • Must have experience with C# ASP.Net application testing. • Must be proficient working with SQL. • Must be proficient in Microsoft’s Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio, and Test Manager. • Must have experience developing high quality test plans and test cases. • Must have experience with code coverage and profiling. • Must have experience with automated functional regression testing. • Must have experience with performance/load testing. • Must have experience with automation tools and scripting. • Must be flexible to sometimes work during non-core US hours to interact with other global teams. Skills Preferred but Not Required: • Should have experience with agile practices such as Scrum. • Should have experience using SOASTA CloudTest, JIRA, SynapseRT, Jenkins, and Confluence. • Should have exposure to writing HTML and JavaScript. • Should have understanding of social media integration.
