SYSTEMS/BUSINESS ANALYST

The University of Minnesota's Office of Information Technology (OIT) is
undertaking a project to upgrade the PeopleSoft ERP System to meet customer
demands. The duration of the project is through the end of December 2014.
This timeline and initial outline of work has put higher demand on OIT's
development capacity which we cannot fulfill by reallocation of resources.
In order to meet these demands, OIT needs to bring on a consultant as a
Systems/Business Analyst.  The position is for an average of 40 hours per
week and is located on the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus.  We
would like the consultant to begin as soon as possible and expect the
engagement to last through December 31, 2014.



*Required qualifications/necessary skills for Analyst position:*

·        Strong background in Peoplesoft Student modules.

·       Prepare the documentation needed for project management oversight
and control.

·       Be able to provide data analysis using SQL.

·       Develop application requirements based on input gathered from a
variety of sources including analysis results and feedback from the user
community.

·       Involve sponsors and stakeholders in the requirements process to
ensure outcomes meet user and stakeholder needs and expectations are
controlled.

·       Review project deliverables for completeness and quality, and
compliance with established standards.

·       Learn new applications, technologies and skills through hands-on
experimentation.

·       Break down complex or unfamiliar issues into logical parts.

·       Identify limitations of and recommend changes to approach for
analyzing a problem.

·       Identify or isolate the root causes of issues and identify
potential solutions.

·       Ask questions that clarify complex or ambiguous issues.

·       Create business process flows and functional designs.

·       Develop test conditions and expected results based on the
application requirements.

·       Execute system tests.
