Job Title—Sybase administrator Job location—Somerset, NJ Sybase JD is below:- ü Good technical skills in Sybase ASE v 12, 12.5, 15x instance builds ü Good knowledge in Unix operating systems and Windows servers ü Good knowledge in clusters, HA, storage technologies. ü Good knowledge in Replication server . Required Skills : ü Database Platforms Sybase Primary ü Experienced DBA supporting Sybase 12.x and 15, Replication Server, Roles and Responsibilities:- ü Has worked on Sybase Migrations in large scale from 12.x to 15.x. ü Production support DBA with 4+ years of L3 level of experience. ü High Availability-Configuration and maintenance. ü Hands on Experience on Replication Server- Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting. ü Manages server builds, storage and backup standards, administration support and capacity planning. ü Proficient with installations, configurations and maintenance of small and large Sybase database environments. ü Manages the Database Servers, Database processes, Change Management, Backup, Archive & Recovery processes. ü Accountable for database service administration, integration, documentation and operation strategies. ü Monitors, controls and reports service levels for database resources. ü Experience on T-SQL and performance tuning at server level ü Experience working on Solaris and AIX Unix environment and clusters. ü Experience on Database backup and recovery ü Responsible for server reliability and capacity planning. ü Capacity Management- Adding and initializing raw devices. ü Hands on experience on Dump load and in place upgrade from 12.x to 15.x ü Development and enhancements of Maintenance Scripts-(Reorg, update stats ,db backups, password sync,database consistency). ü DR Testing , Failover and Failback . ü User and Security management. ü New Sybase Server Configuration/ Patch Installation. ü Database Troubleshooting and Performance tuning activities. ü Hands on experience on Shell, Perl and windows scripting. ü Responsible to ensure security standards and management processes are upheld. ü Participated in the implementation and enhancement internal support processes. ü Provide support/guidance on database issues, performance tuning of SQL, procedures. ü Co-ordinate with Vendor Support to achieve best-in-class solutions for our business partners. ü Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design, Maintenance & monitoring. ü Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning and backup and recovery. Executes database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads.
