Senior Core Java /J2EE developer (LOCAL) Jersey City NJ JOB description Java Sr. Developer in NJ to build out a new Equities Reference Data Services (Equities RDS) platform as part of joint Reference Data/Equities initiative. The platform, Equities RDS, will allow Equities move to the firms strategic Ref Data Hub. Equities RDS will support numerous high performance data sourcing & distribution channels. In-memory distributed caching and various performance optimization techniques are heavily employed to enable timely availability of Product, Counterparty Data for Equities users. Specific Responsibilities 1. Implement Equities RDS services in Java and covering every aspect of data processing and client servicing required by the Equities division. Specific reference data services include: • Product Static Service • Counter Party Services 2. Work in heterogeneous environment at all layers of the technology stack (Tomcat, IIS, MS SQL, Protocol Buffer, Solace, Tibco EMS (JMS), Coherence, Shell Scripts…) 3. Develop interface specifications (XSD) and implementations (SOAP, JMS) which allow for SOA-based orchestration of business processes 4. Provide Level 3 support to London/NY-based business users Essential Requirements 1. Over 7 years experience programming in applications using J2EE specs including Java, JMS, JDBC, XML, Servlets, JTA, Eclipse 2. Strong design principles. 3. Solid on coding fundamentals e.g. Object-Oriented design, data structures and dependency injection. 4. Experience in enterprise-level integration technologies including SOAP and Messaging, in Java 5. Hands-on experience in widely used third party frameworks (e.g. Spring, Hibernate) 6. Experience in enterprise-level Distributed Caching (preferably Coherence) 7. Ability to implement simple Linux shell scripts 8. Hands on experience with deployment technologies such as Ant, and SVN 9. Hands on experience with Databases technologies preferably Oracle, Sybase, and MS SQL Server. 10. The candidate must be highly self-motivated confident and mature, well developed analytical and problem solving skills with the aptitude to learn as well as a flexibility to adapt to change. 11.
