Job Description:
Architect Level Expertise in Cognos 10 platform:
- Installation/Configuration of the Cognos 10 BI software in multi-tiered
environment
- Must be able to create Framework Manager models to enable report
authoring and analytics
- Proficient in Powerplay/Transformer cube building
- Expert level report author using the Business Insights Advanced platform
and the underlying BI studios (e.g., Report Studio)
- Will work closely with Data Warehouse Architect to ensure optimum
performance of the reporting platform
Management and Leadership
- Must demonstrate expertise in formal processes, methodologies, and
artifacts for executing BI development functions in a controlled and
repeatable manner with minimum duplication of effort
- Must coordinate the efforts of multiple BI developers for large-scale
efforts
- Must provide accurate assessments of time required to produce reports in
the chosen BI toolset
- Must be able to provide training/mentoring to other BI developers to
increase their skill levels over time
Business Intelligence Object Design and Development
- Able to facilitate requirements gathering sessions via interviews with
the business user or users that made the request
- Documents reporting requirements in standard format
- Analyzes reporting requirements to generate design documentation relevant
to the chosen BI toolset
- Creates BI artifacts (i.e. reports, alerts, visualizations, etc.) that
satisfy reporting requirements
- Works with business users to refine/adapt/maintain BI artifacts as
business user needs change or the data environment changes
- Works closely with information architect to extend multidimensional model
when necessary to meet new business needs
- Works closely with data stewards to validate data dictionaries and other
metadata for reporting data sources
Communication
- Must be a very strong communicator both verbally and written
- Excellent at documentation of requirements, communication of issues and
contributions to project planning activities
- Comfortable creating training materials and conducting training sessions
for client end-user community
Key Experience:
- 5+ years of experience as a Cognos BI Architect
- 5+ Years’ experience in SDLC implementation methodology
- 3+ Years’ experience as a team lead or project lead in a Business
Intelligence implementation
Optional Experience:
- Project Management experience is highly desired
- Prior Consulting experience is highly desired
- IBM Cognos Certifications in BI tools

As a Senior Systems Engineer in the IT organization you will join the team
responsible for designing, building and maintaining innovative
infrastructure solutions that support the needs of our Salesforce.com
employees. This includes, but is not limited to: Single Sign-On,
authentication services, directory services, and general IT application
design, architecture, capacity planning, and DR. This role’s primary
technical area is Single Sign-On and authentication; however you will be
involved in many of the other core applications and services managed by
corporate IT. You will be involved in IT infrastructure projects that will
optimize current services as well as deploy and integrate new technologies
for the global corporate IT environment. You will interact with various
business, engineering and operational teams. The Senior Systems Engineer
will contribute to the overall success of the engineering organization by
providing recommendations and key insight into the technological path of
corporate IT.
Roles and Responsibilities
- 4+years of experience with Single Sign-On technologies
- 4+years of experience with authentication protocols and services
- Experience with mission-critical services and applications in a global
enterprise environment
- Solid understanding of authentication theory/practice
- Good understanding of identity management theory and fundamentals.

swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do,

performance analysis to tune systems.
